How do I become a patient?
Dr. Yu is currently in his physical practice in Newport Beach, CA. He is still seeing patients virtually Wednesday to Friday. Please fill out the contact me form to get in touch with Dr. Yu. You can also visit my clinic website www.drlifestyle.org
He is currently licensed in California, Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, Ohio and Florida. However, you can message him directly if there are any state licenses you would like him to pursue outside of California. There are several states that Dr. Yu can see patients without a state license due to circumstances around coronavirus.
What is Rheumatology?
Rheumatology is a subspecialty of internal medicine that focus on diseases mainly with immune-mediated disorders of the musculoskeletal system, soft tissues, autoimmune diseases, connective tissue diseases, and vasculitides.
Dr. Yu primarily focuses on rheumatic diseases which include the following:
- Rheumatoid Arthritis
- Ankylosing Spondylitis
- Psoriatic Arthritis
When should you consider the consultation of a rheumatologist?
When you have joint pain, joint stiffness, or joint swelling. There are many other symptoms that may need the consultation of a rheumatologist that is attributed to specific rheumatic diseases or underlying inflammation.

Does Dr. Yu take insurance?
Dr. Yu is out of network with all insurances. When you get a consultation with him, he can generate a superbill for you to give back to your insurance for compensation. All labs, imaging, and medications ordered can go through your insurance. Contact your insurance to find out the rules regarding seeing an out of network physician.
